While The Division 2 was released quite a while ago in 2019, it seems Ubisoft isn't done supporting the once-troubled looter shooter just yet.

The developers at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment confirmed that we'll be seeing something new for The Division 2 at this month's gamescom, which is kicking off next week.

Today, Ubisoft confirmed it has something to do wth snow by teasing a new image.

The Division 2 Support Is Not Done Yet

The Division 2 snow

The image above was shared by the official The Division 2 X (formerly Twitter) account, with the caption, "SHD scanners picked up unusual activity. Intel arrives at Gamescom. Stay frosty, Agents."

This confirms we'll see something new for The Division 2 at the event. Based on the screenshot, it'll involve snow, and possibly survival elements.

The developers teased this new content as a "big" The Division 2 project, and also mentioned that the mobile version of the franchise, The Division Resurgence, will also be at Gamescom. There will be two panels at the show, one for each game.

Released in 2019, The Division 2 failed to make a significant impact on the sales charts and didn't have the same effect as its predecessor. However, after numerous updates and one heck of a dedication to the game by Massive, the game slowly built its player base back up.

Not only that, but after its Warlords of New York expansion in 2020, we got another expansion five years later this May with Battle for Brooklyn premium expansion, which surprised a lot of gamers given most assumed the dev team fully transitioned to the already-announced sequel, The Division 3.

Will this new project be another paid expansion? A free update or something different altogether? We'll know soon enough come next week.

Perhaps The Division 2's announcement will be part of gamescom Opening Night Live, which we've learned will be quite long yet again.
